An Executive visit to Woodgrange Lodge

In October 2018, Woodgrange Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1111 and Woodgrange Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1111 were honoured by a visit from VW.Bro. Richard Baker, PGJO, Deputy Provincial Grand Master and a good number of Provincial Grand Officers of the year. Also present was W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Martin Hewitt, welcomed the Deputy Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Grand Officers accompanying him.

The main item on the agenda was to elevate Bro. Simon Archbold, a member of Woodgrange Lodge of Mark Master Masons. The Worshipful Commander invited W.Bro. Mick Clay to conduct the ceremony of Elevation. Bro. Simon was Elevated to the Ancient and Honourable Degree of Royal Ark Mariner in a most sincere manner by W.Bro. Mick, assisted by members of the Lodge.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Roy Baker, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Mick Clay, PProvGSO, that the Deputy Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and he demanded admission to the Lodge. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team and was welcomed by the Worshipful Master. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master was then presented with the gavel and took the Chair. He said how pleased he was to be visiting Woodgrange Lodge again. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master spoke about the various ongoing initiatives, especially events in support of the 2022 Festival, introduced the Provincial team, took the minutes and vacated the Chair.

Next on the agenda was the installation of Bro. Stephen Howell as Worshipful Master. The Worshipful Master invited W.Bro. Paul Wicking, ProvGSD, to take the Chair for the Installation Ceremony. W.Bro. Stephen was installed into the Chair of Woodgrange Mark Lodge in an excellent manner by W.Bro. Paul, assisted by Bro. Paul Campos who presented the Working Tools in a faultless manner. W.Bro. Mick Clay gave the Address to the Master, VW.Bro. Greer Kirkwood gave the Address to the Wardens, W.Bro.
