The Provincial Grand Master visits Woodgrange Lodge
Executive Visit to Manor of Bensham Lodge

In December, W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, together with a number of Provincial Officers made an Official Visit to Manor of Bensham Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners and Manor of Bensham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1167. Also present, as a member of the Lodge, was VW.Bro. Richard Baker, PGJO, DepProvGM, the Lodge Director of Ceremonies.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Ron Harris, welcomed the Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Officers. The main item on the agenda was to receive a very interesting an informative talk on the Royal Ark Mariner Degree by W.Bro. Alastair Richardson. This was well received by the Brethren.

Executive Visit to Manor of Bensham Lodge

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Roy Baker, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Alastair Richardson, that the Worshipful Assistant Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to his Lodge. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master was then presented with the gavel and took the Chair. He said how pleased he was to be visiting Manor of Bensham Lodge for the very first time and how much he was looking forward to the afternoon’s proceedings. He spoke about the 2022 Festival, especially the events that have been planned, and then introduced the Provincial Team, took the minutes and vacated the Chair.

W.Bro. Bob Soper was then installed into the Chair of the Manor of Bensham Lodge of Mark Master Masons by W.Bro. Alastair Richardson, ably assisted by the Officers of the Lodge. The Keystone Jewel was presented by VW.Bro. Chris Cradock. The Address to the Master was given by W.Bro. Alastair Richardson, to the Wardens by Bro. Melvin Wilkinson, to the Overseers by VW.Bro. Richard Baker and to the Brethren by W.Bro. Chris Eley.

Executive Visit to Manor of Bensham Lodge

After the meeting was closed the Brethren of Manor of Bensham Lodge and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable festive board at the Croydon Masonic Centre.

Manor of Bensham Lodge is a member of the Cryer Group meeting at Croydon and an open invitation is always there for other Brethren go along and enjoy their Mark Masonry with them.
