The Provincial Grand Master visits Woodgrange Lodge
Executive Visit to Warlingham Lodge

In December, W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, together with a number of Provincial Officers made an Official Visit to Warlingham Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners and Warlingham Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1321.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Acting Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Alastair Richardson, ProvRAMGR, welcomed the Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Officers.

A ballot was taken for W.Bro. Alan Hall, ProvRAMGR, a Past Commander of Redhill Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners to join the Lodge. This proved in his favour and W.Bro. Alan immediately took on the role of Director of Ceremonies.

The next item on the agenda was to Elevate Bro. Stephen Butcher of Warlingham Lodge of Mark Master Masons balloted for on a previous occasion. Bro. Stephen was Elevated to the Ancient and Honourable Degree of Royal Ark Mariner in a very pleasant manner by W.Bro. Alastair Richardson, ably assisted by W.Bro. Gary Raggett, a member of the Provincial Support Team, who acted as Senior Deacon; and W.Bro. Chris Eley, who acted as Senior Warden.

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Mark Donovan, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. John Marsh, PProvGJD, that the Worshipful Assistant Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to his Lodge.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team. Eulogies were given in memory of W.Bro. Stanley Nye, PAGDC, PProvGSW; and W.Bro. Stephen Briney, PAGStB, PProvGSW. Both loyal supporters of Warlingham Lodge.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master was then presented with the gavel and took the Chair. He said how pleased he was to be visiting Warlingham Lodge again and how much he was looking forward to the afternoon’s proceedings. He also said how nice it was to see the Lodge growing in numbers with so many Mark Master Masons present. He spoke about the 2022 Festival, especially the events that have been planned, and then introduced the Provincial Team, took the minutes and vacated the Chair. A ballot was taken for W.Bro. Alan Hall, a Past Master of Redhill Lodge of Mark Master Masons to join the Lodge. This proved in his favour and W.Bro. Alan again took on the role of Director of Ceremonies.

Bro. Ray Dudman was then installed into the Chair of the Warlingham Lodge of Mark Master Masons by W.Bro. John Marsh, ably assisted by the Officers of the Lodge. The Working Tools were presented by W.Bro. Bill Barr. The Address to the Master was given by W.Bro. Bill Barr, to the Wardens by W.Bro. David Wills, to the Overseers by W.Bro. Terry Carpenter and to the Brethren by W.Bro. Chris Eley.
