The Provincial Grand Master visits Woodgrange Lodge

In October 2017, Woodgrange Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 1111 and Woodgrange Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1111 were honoured by a visit from RW.Bro. Ian Clark, Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by W.Bro. Chris Eley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and a number of Provincial Grand Officers of the year.

The afternoon started off with a Royal Ark Mariners meeting where the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Michael Clay, ProvRAMGR, welcomed the Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Officers. The next item on the agenda was to Elevate Bro. Michael Owen of Woodgrange Lodge of Mark Master Masons. Bro. Michael Owen was Elevated to the Ancient and Honourable Degree of Royal Ark Mariner in an excellent manner by W.Bro. Michael Clay, ably assisted by W.Bro. Paul Wicking who acted as Senior Deacon for the ceremony. The Working Tools were presented by Bro Bert Pullen. The Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners was closed.

Executive visit to Redhill Ram and Mark Lodges

A Lodge of Mark Master Masons was then opened. The Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Richard Knox, was admitted and advised the Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Martin Hewitt, that the RW Provincial Grand Master was in the ante room and demanded admission to the Lodge. The RW Provincial Grand Master entered in procession with the Provincial team, was presented with the gavel and took the Chair. The RW Provincial Grand Master introduced the Provincial team and spoke about the 2022 Festival.

After the Provincial Grand Master had vacated the Chair the Worshipful Master invited W.Bro. Paul Wicking to conduct the Ceremony of Installation. W.Bro. Michael Clay, PProvGSO, was installed into the Chair of the Woodgrange Lodge of Mark Master Masons by W.Bro. Paul Wicking. The Address to the Master was given by W.Bro. Stephen Dingvean, to the Wardens by VW.Bro. Greer Kirkwood, to the Overseers by W.Bro. Terry Carpenter and to the Brethren by RW.Bro. Ian Clark.

Executive visit to Redhill Ram and Mark Lodges

The Charity Steward, W.Bro. Steve Hicks, and the Worshipful Master presented a cheque for £300 to the Provincial Grand Master towards the 2022 MBF Festival. The Provincial Grand Master gratefully received the cheque and thanked the Brethren of Woodgrange Lodge for their support for the Festival.

Executive visit to Redhill Ram and Mark Lodges

After the Lodge was closed the Brethren of Woodgrange Lodge and their guests sat down to a most enjoyable meal at the Croydon Masonic Hall.
