What a splendid afternoon we had at Drumore in Ashstead, thanks to the efforts of Steve Jones in organising the event. After a few drinks in the garden the curry arrived. The buffet was a choice of three tasty chicken and lamb dishes and a vegetarian dish, accompanied by pilau rice and naan bread. The guests soon tucked into the curry - and some were spotted going back for seconds, or even thirds.

Those who purchased raffle tickets were rewarded with a delicious and in date Sainsbury’s choc ice! It was David Bleming’s 77th birthday that day so Steve Jones brought along a special birthday cake so we could celebrate with David his birthday. It was of course from Sainsbury’s – but still in date and very tasty.

The event was supported by the Provincial Grand Master, the two Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master in the Craft, W Bro Richard Wileman and the Second Provincial Grand Principal in the Royal Arch, E Comp Steve Dingvean.

We were fortunate to have a lovely sunny day, which was enjoyed by all present. Thanks again to David and Beryl for their hospitality, Steve for his organisation, to Mark Donovan who provided the transport, John Banks from James Terry Court who loaned all the furniture, Mr Zia from the Joy Restaurant In Ashtead who provided the food, Karen for doing the washing up and to everyone who came along to support this 2022 Festival event which raised £500 for the Festival.
